Designed for children and teens ages 10-20. In the first few weeks, students have fun learning how to “hand-build” projects such as slab cups, clay masks, name plaques, heart shaped boxes, etc.
Once older students (10 + up) learn basic hand building methods, then they’re able to learn how to “throw” on the wheel. Students learn how to “throw” bowls, cups, plates, chip + dip plates, etc.
After students ceramic work is bisque fired, they are taught various glazing techniques using both low fire, and high fire glazes.

A Friday time slot is coming in March!!! Beginning on Friday, March 6 from 3:00-5:00, Clay Studio will be offering a new time slot for younger students ages 7-10. This class will focus on hand building techniques. Students will create fun projects such as clay masks, coil vessels, animals in their environments, etc. In this particular class we will be focusing on creativity, use of one’s imagination, and building upon fine motor skills for younger potters!
This class will begin each Friday of the month and run for four consecutive weeks. Classes begin: March 6, April 3, May 1 Please call for further details OR to reserve a space!
These classes begin the first Saturday of each month, and run for 4 consecutive weeks. The Saturday morning class time slot is from 10:30-12:30.
Next Saturday Classes Begin: February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2
***Please note students are permitted one make-up class within the four-week class session.
